In my blogging, brainstorm frenzy the other day, I ended up scouring the blog feed to see what other people had posted. I noticed a very strange phenomenon - most people's blog posts all seemed to be rather clumped together, as if they had crammed for a last-minute deadline. A lot of what was written was quality stuff, no doubt, but I felt like it took away from the integrity and purpose of the blogs and what they should be. I just don't think it's ethical to have revelations on a regularly scheduled basis. What do you think?
Well, I personally admit I posted 7 blogs in one night to sort of show off but also because I wanted to see which kinds of things people were interested in talking about. Apparently, they want to talk about the first thing on the list, even if that post is titled "Read My Other Posts Too".
ReplyDeleteAre you saying it's unethical to have ideas on a nightly basis or to have all of your revelations on Thursday nights at 10:30 PM CST?
PS. Your headline made me think you were going to have a blog marathon for some sort of charity. I'd be down with that!
I think as long as the posts are of good quality, it shouldn't matter when we post them. Yeah, it kind of hurts the whole point of this blogging program, but who has the time? I usually do my posts on Thursdays because I just simply do not have time to do them on the other, busier week nights.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Mackenzie. If you feel that your blogs are of good quality then it should not matter when you post them. I know I usually do three posts at one time and then two at another, sometimes one a day, or five in one day, it varies. But, I know that I would be rather irked if we were required to have to post one a night, because sometimes it is just not reasonable. Like if you are doing a bunch of different homework maybe that is all you can think about and you don't think that what post might come of that isn't something you will like, then you will struggle to think of something. Same goes if your brain is just shot and you have no more effort to give then yeah it is not going to be a good thing. I feel that it is ethical to have a revelation whenever you get one and that you can post it whenever you want, even if it is not the same day, who cares? But, yeah, I feel like I am kind of rambling at this point, but there is my opinion.
